Sandy Coughhlan
Sandy started painting at a young age and had her first exhibition aged 14, showing a collection of landscape paintings alongside her siblings work.
A move to North Norfolk a few years ago prompted a return to landscape painting, inspired by expansive nature of the countryside and coast. Walking in the landscape with her two border collies and sketching provides a starting point.
Acrylic paint applied in a variety of ways such as palette knives, brush spattering as the process of markmaking is built up in layers to achieve a textural surface.
Sandy’s works often have a visual, pathway drawing the viewer through deep perspectives if sky sea and land.
