Mark Goldsworthy
Mark attended art school in Manchester and has been creating ever since. He lives in Bungay, Suffolk and has workshops and a studio nearby.
He’s currently working on two public sculpture projects for Great Yarmouth council . One a carving in granite and the other, a large bronze. He prefers to work in either stone or model in wax and then cast in bronze.
He is interested in the suggestion of form in the stone sculptures, keeping the essence of a found ‘rock’ and its tactile qualities. These are then transposed into the bronzes. With the wax sculptures he is more concerned with movement and the vitality of the forms. These are then turned into bronzes.
Mark’s influences are harder to define but he does returnto look at early cultures and the emphasis on what things feel like as opposed to what things look like.
