Tracey Ross
After finishing school, Tracey attended Art School to study textile design for which she had a passion. Much of her time was spent in the print room where she focused on screen printing and learnt about mixing colours. When in her forties she enrolled on an Access Course in Art & Design at Norwich City College which led to her pursuing a degree in Visual Studies at Norwich University of the Arts. After graduating Tracey went on to train as a teacher.
Tracey draws inspiration from a variety of sources, with a strong focus on abstract painters like Peter Lanyon, David Mankin, and JMW Turner. She works with mixed media techniques, often combining acrylic paint with tissue paper, Inktense Blocks, and various inks. By experimenting with diverse materials, she finds new ways to maintain her creative flow.
Her studio near Walsingham has breathtaking views over the Holy Valley which is a constant source of inspiration. Tracey is currently working on several large commissions and is also building a new body of work for two exhibitions planned in 2025.
